God has called me this year to serve college students up at Michigan Tech in Houghton, Michigan. You’ll typically find me hanging out at St. Al’s, walking around campus, or hiking one of the trails nearby. I’d love to share the story of how Jesus has changed my life with you, and I’d also love to meet you!
Growing up Catholic, I was blessed to know the basics of the faith at a young age, but it wasn’t until my experience at a local Catholic camp in high school where I truly began to understand the Lord’s love for me via the witness and the joy people my age had from a personal relationship with Christ. I had never realized just how deep and how personal of a relationship the Lord calls us to be in with Him. ( And God still continues to reveal this to me more and more each day!) This witness spurred me on to continue to pursue this kind of community and to seek out more about our Catholic faith which I found to be rich both in beauty, goodness, and truth.
Going into my freshman year at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, I wanted to grow in my relationship with Christ and find community at the nearby Newman Center. From authentic friendships centered on Christ to Bible studies on my identity in Christ and God’s plan for salvation through the covenants, God blessed me with all of these things and more as He continued not only to bring the Gospel to life for me but to draw me closer to Himself as His daughter. Not too long before my sophomore year of college, I went on a FOCUS mission trip to Ecuador, and I was struck by the people’s hunger to hear the Gospel which placed upon my heart a greater conviction to begin to go beyond myself to bring Christ to others.
I’ve said yes to being a missionary because I want others to know of God’s desire to be in a relationship with them and of His infinite love because it has forever changed my life. As a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead all students to Christ. My life has been transformed by Jesus and I want nothing more than to bring this joy to others struggling with their identity and their purpose in life and to introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you. Please keep my team and I in your prayers as we continue to encounter students on campus.
