This is my fourth year serving students at Texas Tech University! Wreck ‘Em!

A few years ago a priest asked me, “What do you desire?” In that moment, I realized that I had many extrinsic goals in my life, but never considered what I truly desired. I remember taking a business elective in school where the professor shared a profound study. He described that researchers found that there are two goals humans seek and long for: 1) The desire to grow and 2) The desire to contribute. The study concluded with the findings that the surest and quickest way to happiness and fulfillment is when one gave themselves as a gift to others. 

After having different work opportunities after graduation, and recognizing my desire to form others, I came to realize that becoming a FOCUS Missionary most aligned with the desires God placed on my heart. In His ministry on earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet us on our level, taking on our humanity, and spent most of His time investing deeply in a few and gave himself completely to others. I look to Jesus own example to find the best method of reaching the world by giving my life as a gift to others and sharing the life that Jesus has given in me.

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission.
