I serve at Drake University in Des Moines, IA! GO BULLDOGS!

It s a classic story: Cradle Catholic, loved the Church but didn t really have a relationship with Jesus, got my world ROCKED in college, and began to live out my faith radically.  You ve likely heard that story countless times.  While the details often vary person to person (because our God is creative and loves us each uniquely), the bones of the story remain the same: I was not living in relationship with God, He called to me and encountered me profoundly, and I made the only logical response to give my life to Him.  

It is this call to relationship that led me, while in college, to commit to praying everyday, to lead a Bible study, and live as a joyful witness to the Gospel.  And it is this call to relationship that led to my being invited into the mission more deeply as a FOCUS missionary.  

When I got hired, I wrote a letter to myself, explaining this call. 

You are not being a missionary because people expected it of you.  You are not being a missionary because it seemed like an easy job.  You have become a FOCUS missionary because Jesus Christ, the Creator of the Universe has asked you to.  You have become a missionary so that you could love Jesus and console His Heart by bringing other people to love Him more.  You have become a missionary because you have come to know the Love of the Father and it is your job to make sure other’s have the opportunity to come to know it too. People have forgotten who they are (BELOVED SONS AND DAUGHTERS) and it is your job to remind them.

People have forgotten who they are.  It is our job to remind them.  That s what we re here for.  That s why I m doing this crazy fundraising thing and that s why you re here reading this page. I m here to remind people of their Divine Adoption. Will you join me?

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission.
