We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hey! My name’s Chris Bordiuk. I’m a FOCUS missionary at Western Kentucky University.
God has called me to serve college students for the past two years, and I am super excited to say that he has called me to a third year of FOCUS at Western Kentucky University. Some of you may know that I have served the past two years at the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. After those two amazing years, my wife, Lucy, and I decided that we wanted to move a little closer to family and friends. We are blessed to have the the opportunity to serve the students at WKU. I will continue my outreach to student athletes and Lucy will be joining staff part-time to help women’s outreach. We are so excited for this new transition and where God is leading us!
My faith has always been an important part of my life. When I got to college I knew I had a real opportunity to dive deep into my faith and find great community – or lose the faith like so many other students. I was incredibly blessed to be at Belmont University which has such an incredible Catholic community. The friendships that I began to make there have truly formed me as a person and helped me be the man I am today. Very early on in my college career I was able to get plugged in to a FOCUS bible study. The missionaries that led me through my first few years of college set me on a great path to continue pursuing the faith and help build the community around me. By my junior year I was heavily involved in the community, leading a bible study and mentoring another student in leading others in the faith. Continuing this journey throughout my senior year I was invited by my missionary to apply for FOCUS staff. It was honestly something I had not considered up until that point. I decided to take his advice and take the leap of faith. As I have served these past two years at the University of Mary, I have consistently heard God continue to all me to this mission. He calls me to Him and this mission through the incredible students, teammates, and chaplains I have been able to work with, and through the hours spent in prayer, mass, and bible studies. I am incredibly excited to continue to say yes to the call to His mission through FOCUS.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
