We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
We’ve relocated to Kansas and now serve at Wichita State University. Go Shox!
When I was a freshman at the University of Kansas, a senior in my fraternity stood up at a chapter meeting and shared with us how his life had been transformed by a relationship with the one true God through the person of Jesus. I remember bawling in private that night because I wanted so badly to know how I too could love, obey and defend the God whom, thanks to the witness of my parents and siblings, I came to believe in during my youth. The senior’s witness changed my life and led to conversion of my heart and the heart of my at-the-time girlfriend (now wife) Anne.
I was fortunate to have several faithful friends along the way that helped develop me as a person, especially in areas of faith and virtue. Entering into my senior year, I bumped into a FOCUS missionary on campus. Committed to my faith as a non-Catholic Christian, I wasn’t super interested in becoming friends with the guy.
Less than a calendar year later the same missionary stood behind me as my sponsor when I was received into the Catholic Church and was among the men standing next to me on my wedding day as I married the woman of my dreams last February.
Anne and I, along with our daughter Isabel, are so excited for the opportunity to be used by God in a similar way as to make an impact in the life of college students. We’re eager to meet students at such a pivotal time in their lives.
Saying yes to FOCUS means saying yes to relying upon the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help make this mission possible. I’m currently working to invite people like yourself to join me in reaching students on the college campus.
Saint Teresa of Calcutta has been quoted saying, “Some give by going, others go by giving.” If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule a time to meet. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
