Hello! My name is Daniel Lee and I’m a first-year missionary with FOCUS. I’m currently serving at the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas with a team of four other missionaries!

Growing up Catholic didn’t mean much to me. However, a series of losses during my adolescence exposed a real emptiness in my heart that resulted from a life of self-centeredness and materialism, a life so often promoted by our culture. Realizing that nothing in the world could fill my seemingly infinite desire for something greater, I began exploring Christianity and the Faith of my childhood. After a providential turn of events, I encountered Christ who “came that we may have life, and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10) Everything changed.

By the grace of God, I dove head first into the Faith, learning how to pray, read Scripture, and live a more virtuous life. I even spent three years discerning a religious vocation with the Salesians of St. John Bosco before being called home during my novitiate year. After, I graduated from Belmont Abbey College, and then responded to a missionary call with FOCUS through a friendship with the missionaries on my campus. Now, filled with zeal because of this response to God, the presence of Christ in my soul is like a “spring of water welling up to eternal life” (John 4:14), and He has called me forth to share that water with students on campus at the University of Dallas!

Jesus and his disciples humbly relied on the generosity of others to spiritually and materially support them on mission (e.g. Luke 8:1-4). So, I’d like to invite you to partner with me in spreading the kingdom of God among young people on campus!
