We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hello! My name’s Dusty, and I’m blessed to be a FOCUS missionary. Thank you for visiting my page.
I will be serving at Winona State University. I enjoy exercise, being outdoors, reading, and playing sports. Missionary work is centered on helping college students experience an authentic encounter with Christ through prayer, bible study, and mentorship.
I was raised in the Catholic faith, but by the time I left home for college I had the unfortunate, yet all-too-common notion that my faith was about following a set of rules because that is “the right thing to do.” Thanks to missionaries who walked with me in studying scripture, teaching me how to pray, and mentoring me in the faith, I began to experience Jesus in a personal way. I came to learn that my faith is not about rules, it’s about relationship!- And now I want to help others experience this as well. I personally know how difficult it is to keep the faith in college, even when we are raised with it. As a missionary, I deeply desire to connect college students to their identity as beloved sons and daughters of God. Matthew 9:37 tells us that “the harvest is abundant, but the laborers are few.” Unfortunately, the college campus is certainly a place where our identity as beloved sons and daughters often falls under attack. As a result, many people fall away from their faith during this time. However, where evil abounds, so too does grace abound all the more! The college campus is also “ripe for harvest” as there are many souls searching for their identities, only to look in the wrong places. I am excited to answer the Lord’s call in laboring for this abundant harvest!
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I also answered the call to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to make this mission possible. If you are interested in partnering with me, whether spiritually, financially, or both, please let me know the best way to reach you and we can set up a time to meet. I would be honored if would share in this mission with me to win souls for Christ’s kingdom.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
