God has called me in a particular way to serve college students! For the next year I will be serving at Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska! I am excited to move to a new campus and share the Gospel with students. Once on campus I plan to explore my surroundings and have lots of fun with my new team and students while pursuing life with Christ. Jesus drastically changed my life during my time in college and continues to now; I would love to share more about my story with you!

My Story
As a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead people to a deep and personal relationship with Christ so they may know they are seen, known and loved always by God. My life has been transformed by Jesus especially during my time in college and I want to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel. Throughout my years at Colorado School of Mines, I was able to encounter Christ more and more through true virtuous friends, the sacraments, specifically daily mass and confession, the missionaries on campus who taught me about prayer and scripture and many others like the Catholic community at Mines and the religious around Colorado who are constant witnesses to Christ’s love. I was blessed to go on many retreats and attend many conferences, be part of many bible studies, and most importantly spend lots of time with Jesus and others who want to help me on the path to Heaven. In His ministry on earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet us where we are, take on our humanity, and spent most of His time investing deeply in a few. I hope to follow Jesus example to reach the world through friendship, formation and the sacraments the same way I was invested in. Jesus wants to have a personal and intimate relationship with each of us and I hope to lead people to this relationship during my time as a FOCUS missionary and for many years after!

Jeff Runyan is a 15-year veteran of FOCUS and currently serves as the Sr. Director of International Relations. Jeff has degrees in Spanish and Political Science and a certification in Latin American Studies from Colorado State University. As a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar, he studied in a post-graduate program in International Relations at the Pontifical Catholic University in Santiago, Chile. Jeff is also a Rotary World Peace Fellow and has received a certification in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. Jeff served as a missionary at the United States Air Force Academy and spent 10 years as the Director of FOCUS Missions.
