We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
The Father has called me to serve for a 5th year with FOCUS! This coming year I will serve at the Auraria Campus in Denver Colorado with my fiancé Jacob. Please Pray for us!
The Bosco Project is a semi-new initiative within FOCUS. It exists to help ensure the national growth of FOCUS to more campuses in the US while also ensuring the health, well-being, and knowledge of the men that will be sent to these campuses. FOCUS historically hires women more easily than we do men and this is an obvious obstacle when it comes to our national growth! Every year we also get a handful of men that really desire to be missionaries with FOCUS but need to grow in a few areas before they are sent to campus. The needs of these men vary from understanding FOCUS’ model of discipleship to going to 12-step meetings. Just because some of these guys have things they need to grow in does not mean they wouldn’t be good missionaries, so that’s where the Bosco Project comes in! While these men grow in their personal human areas, Jenna will be taking them out on campus to learn the practicals of missionary life. She will have daily meetings with them to ensure they are investing in the men they walk with well, help them understand how to do outreach on campus, and push them to continue to get others involved in the Auraria campus community. While Jenna helps the men understand how to be missionaries she will be a missionary to the female students that attend the metropolitan campus. Leading her own bible studies and discipleship formation groups will also help the men grow because they will witness her being invested in her personal apostolate. This Project is a great help to FOCUS and the Church because these men are given a chance to heal and thrive. Jenna is excited to help the men in the house learn to flourish missionaries and for the female students to finally have a missionary!
My fiancé Jacob currently works for the Bosco Project as a formator. This project is an initiative FOCUS started last year and it exists to give continued support to men within FOCUS. As more and more campuses want FOCUS missionaries at their schools and Newman Centers, more and more missionaries need to be produced! Sadly, it is much more common for us to have a surplus of female missionaries than male. Since we cannot send all female FOCUS teams to universities, the Bosco Project helps men that want to be missionaries but need a little more formation get the help they need so that they can go to campus and thrive. Men that would be in the Bosco Project are first year male missionaries that either didn’t have FOCUS on their campus as a college student, need to continue to grow in spiritual formation or need support in growing in other Big 3 areas. (The big 3 are chastity, sobriety, and excellence!) Jacob has been able to walk with men in all of these areas and have seen great freedom come to the men that are in the Project!
As Jacob accompanies them in those areas I will help them in mission specific skills. We will go on campus together to invite students to get involved in bible studies, come to mass, or even to hang out at the church for our weekly barbeque. I will teach them how to lead others in discipleship and bible study too while I lead women of my own! Ultimately, I will get to be their first experience of female friendship as a teammate. Jacob and I are both really excited to see what the Lord will do through us as we start a new chapter in Denver!
As a missionary, my greatest and BIGGEST desire is to lead all students to Christ. During college my life has been transformed by Jesus. I now want nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel. I believe there are many other lives that the Lord wants to change on the college campus. In His ministry on earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet us on our level, taking on our humanity, and spent most of His time investing deeply in a few. Living as a disciple of Jesus is my greatest joy. I’ve been constantly amazed by the different souls I’ve encountered on campus while being Jesus’ missionary.
I specifically desire women to see their feminine heart as true gifts. That many more daughters of God would see themselves the way God sees them. Women are a great gift from God. I want girls to see that our hearts are designed by Him, that He knows us better than we ever will. Women of this generation deserve to be rooted in Jesus’ merciful love.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will gladly schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.
Please let me know if you have any prayer intentions, too! Thank you so much for your time.
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
