God has called me to serve college students at Southern Methodist University! You can find me at the Catholic Campus Ministry leading Bible studies or discipleship or at the library having coffee with the men in my groups helping them become the men they were called to be – men for others.
I grew up in a Catholic family where we went to Mass on Sundays and went to Catholic school all the way through high school, but I never truly made the faith my own and looked to the world for my worth. When I came to college I was determined to have the best experience I could have, so I worked hard and played hard for four years but found a life-draining routine that left me empty and hopeless. At a point of despair in my senior year, a FOCUS missionary invited me to live differently and do Exodus 90, an intense spiritual exercise for men that focuses on prayer, asceticism, and fraternity. Without anything left to lose, I agreed and for 90 days I pledged to dedicate myself to Christ. The Lord wasted no time coming to my assistance and on day 21 I met the person of Jesus Christ in Eucharistic adoration. In only an hour of prayer, I experienced an overwhelming abundance of joy, love, and mercy that flowed from the merciful heart of the Lord. One yes turned into a lifetime of adventure which is why I joined FOCUS to invite others into the same adventure that my missionary invited me into. I am excited to meet students where they are and show them what life could look like.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.
