We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hello! As you can tell by the text above it is my page that you have reached! I hope you enjoy your day and whatever is down below. God Bless!
I serve at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). This is my third year as a missionary with FOCUS!
I was born and raised in the great city of Philadelphia (Yes, I believe that Philadelphia is great!). I was born into a loving family and spent lots of my time playing ice hockey during my childhood. I also would go to Mass and altar serve when I did not have hockey, which was only during the summer and the holidays. When I did go to Mass, I did not know why I was there or what the point of going was. I was more interested in playing video games and playing hockey than I was in The Lord.
It was not until I went to college that I started thinking more about God and what I was meant to do with my life. Since I played hockey my whole life I decided to join the club ice hockey team at Temple University to be a part of a group and make friends. While I am so thankful for the experience, I realized that my time playing hockey all the time was coming to an end, because I was not enjoying playing anymore, and I was yearning for something more in my life. I just wanted good friends and to have a life that did not involve hockey 9 months out of the year.
Then, I received an invite from a high school friend about the Temple Newman Center. It was an invite that changed my life. Even though I was reluctant, I attended an event and was met with people who wanted to get to know me and spend time with me. I kept going back to the Newman Center for community service hours for a class I was taking, and for the people that were there. I just knew that they wanted to be my friend and that is what I was desiring most during college! Through the friends that I made at the Newman Center, I encountered Christ.
My junior year of college is when The Lord transformed my life to the point where I knew I wanted to follow His will and commit my whole life to him. This happened when I went on a FOCUS mission trip to Peru. While I was there I encountered Christ in the poor that we were serving and Christ in Eucharistic Adoration. I just realized I was not happy with the way I was living my life. I wanted true joy and happiness, and that night The Lord gave me the way to true joy and happiness, which is having a deep and personal relationship with Him. That night is forever embedded in my heart as the night where I committed my life to Christ!
After that mission trip, I felt The Lord calling me to join FOCUS to become a missionary. Though I was reluctant, every time I went to prayer, the idea of being a missionary came with peace and joy and I knew that only comes from God. After my interview weekend, I said “YES” and have never looked back. I have been on an amazing adventure, and I have loved pursuing The Lord’s heart as a missionary!
The reason why I am serving as a missionary with FOCUS is to bring students to Christ the same way I was brought to him. Through great community and inviting students to have personal encounters with Christ.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
