Don’t you long to shout to those young men and women all around you: Fools, leave those worldly things that shackle the heart and very often degrade it…leave all that and come with us in search of Love! – St. Josemar a Escriv
This year I will be serving my third year at the University of Louisville! I cannot wait to continue this journey with my team & campus ministry. I have seen the Lord bring searching hearts back to Himself and draw students out of the mess that is our world today. It is an absolute gift to be able to walk with them on this journey. I ask that you pray for our team as well as the students on campus as we fight for all that is true, good, and beautiful.
I came into college not sure what I wanted to do or who I was, and ultimately in a place of great fear and longing. I had grown up in the Church, but the reality of the Gospel never sank into my heart. Through the authentic joy and faith of some Christian friends, I found what I had been looking for my whole life, and that was a person, Jesus Christ. This began a long journey of diving deep into the Catholic faith, but through the love and accompaniment of multiple FOCUS missionaries, the Lord revealed to me the Truth and Goodness and Beauty that is His Church. I never knew what it meant to be fully alive until I encountered Christ, and I knew the Lord was calling me to bring that same life to other students through FOCUS, and I am so excited to begin that adventure!
The Lord has called all of us to answer His invitation to go on mission in order to set the world on fire! Although we have all been called, it is true that He calls us each in different ways. When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I feel deeply about this invitation because if I could personally thank every mission partner who supported the missionaries who changed my life, I would. This is such a beautiful way to work together in changing the lives of students, and if you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I would be honored to share this mission with you!
“I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly.” -John 10:10
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
