I am beyond excited to call the University of Kentucky my new home! As a first year missionary, I cannot wait to build relationships with the students at our Newman Center, for the infamous Kentucky basketball games, and all the unexpected adventure to come!

Growing up in a Catholic family and in the Catholic school system, I always knew my faith was supposed to be an important part of my life, and in all honesty, it was. I loved attending and leading religious retreats, going to youth group, and reading the stories of the saints, yet it wasn’t until I was separated from the comfort of this faith community in college that my heart first ached with the cry of “our faith has to be more than this.” 

That following summer, I interned at FOCUS’s national offices as their conference intern, where I was gifted with the opportunity of a daily holy hour, mass, and constant formation. For the first time, I experienced fully alive Catholic community. I had peers and mentors who taught me how to pray, who listened to the depths of my desires of holiness, and inspired me to fall deeper in lover with the person of Christ.

Coming back to campus I knew my life could never be the same. Before long, I was welcomed into the Catholic community at my school, was leading a Bible study, and was walking with two women, teaching them about the faith. My heart was soaring, knowing that I was doing exactly what God wanted of me – to receive His love and pour it out to those around me. Now, I cannot wait to devote my entire life to this work as a FOCUS missionary, as I am thrilled that God has called me to love and serve college students at such a time as this!

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission.
