“Our Lord is always ready to lift us up again when we fall, and he even finds a way to make our falls beneficial to us if after them we turn back to him with a humble, trusting heart.” -Jacques Philippe
“We should fight, not to attain holiness as a result of our own efforts, but to let God act in us without our putting up any resistance against him; we should fight to open ourselves as fully as possible to his grace, which sanctifies us.” -Jacques Philippe
At the start of my Junior year at Ohio State, FOCUS entered campus. I was super excited to learn what FOCUS did. One day a missionary approached me at the Newman Center and saw I had the book Divine Intimacy. We then talked for a while, and then they asked if I wanted to get coffee during that same week. The relationship I built with this missionary became more than just being friends. He helped me learn what it means to have a relationship with Jesus. How to open up and be vulnerable with our Lord to offer up our Joys and sorrows leads me to ask the Lord what His will is for me. All it took was the one encounter that led to a genuine relationship with Jesus.
Over the last year, the Lord has called me into a mission through FOCUS. To help accompany guys into having a relationship with Jesus and to become intimate with our Lord. To lead guys into becoming Men for Christ. The Lord has changed my life and taken me to places I wouldn’t have expected, helping me learn about His love for us. The Lord’s love is the greatest thing that we could ever receive. That is something that He wants us to know each day of our lives! I want nothing more than to share this Love and Encounter that He wants to give us constantly.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.
