God has called me to the University of South Carolina to encounter, serve, and share the Gospel with college students! 

Spurs Up!

The years between 18-23 are some of the most formational years of our lives. For many people, like myself, those years are spent on college campuses. Campus is buzzing with talks of what the future looks like for us. What are we looking for? Who are we going to be? What will we invest our time in? What are we going to do for the rest of our lives? These were all questions I was asking myself during my time as a college student at the University of Texas. Many people, philosophies, experiences, and elements of campus culture sought to offer answers to those questions I was asking, yet they always fell short of the Truth. I spent a lot of time and heartache looking to fulfill myself with anything and everything the culture on campus had to offer, and I was still waking up every morning feeling deeply unsatisfied. It was when a FOCUS missionary reached out to me that I learned what I had been searching for: Jesus Christ. I had grown up practicing my faith, but through attending bible study and the authentic friendships I formed in FOCUS, I realized just how essential, freeing, and fulfilling it is to live life in union with Christ and his Church. 

As I came to know and allow myself to be loved by the Lord more and more, I recognized a deep need to share the Gospel. I realized the lies that existed on my campus about who God was and what we are made for, and I wanted to devote my time and energy to break down those lies and invite others to live free and abundant lives with Jesus! There are many more students out there who, like me, fell into belief of those lies and are searching for something far greater than this world has to offer and are longing to be satisfied.

By God’s grace, I was able to turn that desire to invite others into relationship with Christ into a full-time position in becoming a FOCUS Missionary. It is my deep desire to be united to God and bring others into communion with him as well. As a missionary, I will have the great honor and privilege to walk with students towards Christ. What a gift!

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus.
