We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
I’m Lucy Skoch, and I am a Varsity Catholic missionary!
Thank you so much for your prayers and generosity!
As I enter into my 3rd year of mission, God has called me to serve as a first-year team director in the great state of Indiana at DePauw University in Greencastle! GO TIGERS! Here, I will be overseeing mission on campus as a whole, while working alongside and coaching my teammates, and walking with collegiate athletes in their faith journeys through bible studies and discipleship!
During my college career, I played volleyball and it quickly became my main priority. I realized I was going down a path that would lead me unsatisfied and was searching for something more. Spring of my freshman year rolled around and by the grace of God and an invitation from my brother, I was able to get connected with FOCUS through digital campus and created a friendship with a missionary on staff through zoom meetings. This is where I truly came to know the person of Jesus Christ through the gospels. In 2019, she invited me to attend a FOCUS conference with over 17,000 students and it was here I heard the Lord say to me “Lucy, I thirst”. Not only does Jesus thirst for my friendship but He thirsts for a relationship with YOU too! In His ministry on earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet us on our level, taking on our humanity, and spent most of His time investing deeply in a few. I look to Jesus own example to find the best method of reaching the world. I am humbled to be the Lord’s hands and feet on campus and am very excited to have the opportunity to share Him through authentic friendships and walk with others in their faith journey.
When I gave my “yes” to the Lord and the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to get to know you and for you to join my mission. As Mother Teresa said: “We cannot all do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” Let us live by this example in our daily lives and continue to love greatly in our small daily yes to the Lord.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
