I am a second-year missionary serving at Mount St. Mary’s in beautiful Emmitsburg, Maryland!

(Grace and I are excited to welcome our new first-year missionary, Peter, and our new Team Director, Murphy, to the Mount family!)

My parents had gifted me the Catholic faith as a young child, but living as a Catholic young adult felt like climbing an uphill battle when I entered college. I felt very alone in the cacophony and God’s voice was drowned out among the badgering noises. In all of the confusion, God reached me through my bible study leader and later a missionary. They walked with me in my faith journey, both patient, caring, and intentional, so much so that I had to know what, or should I say who, was the cause of their joy. Ultimately, it was Christ and their relationship grown with Him in prayer, the sacraments, and with fellowship with other sisters in Christ!

Their witness to the faith and their striving towards virtue was so attractive that I also followed in their footsteps of being a bible study leader and now a missionary! This Christ-given joy I have received is not something I want to keep to myself, rather, it compels me every day to go out and tell others of the love of Jesus Christ, so that they too may come to know Him more deeply and intimately, and live life more fully alive.

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus.
