We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Ever since I left my job as a high school teacher to join FOCUS staff in 2012, God has been using me to strengthen His Church by reaching His people. Both on campus and off, I have had the sincere privilege of seeing literally hundreds of young people’s faith come alive through small group Bible study and discipleship relationships. These young people will go on to answer God’s call for their lives, “on fire with a desire to give Him souls… first of all [their] own, then an incalculable number of others”. -St. Alphonsus Ligouri
I currently serve the mission of FOCUS as the Senior Manager of MPD. I love my job because, as MPD manager, I teach Mission Partner Development (fundraising) to hundreds of missionaries every year, mobilizing them to reach the campus where they are sent, to reach even more souls for the Gospel.
In John 17:3, Jesus describes what eternal life is “… to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom he has sent”. This is the only time in the entire Bible that eternal life is described this way, and it has always put my day-to-day life in perspective. In my role of Senior Manager, I develop missionaries who lead Bible study, spend time with students, teach students how to pray, take students to the sacraments so that they have an encounter with Jesus; so that they can “know… God”.
I am sometimes told by people that I am an “answer to prayer”. It took me a while to know what that meant.
We all have loved ones who have left the faith. I always wonder what, if any, role I can play in that loved one’s journey back to faith. Sometimes, it is the people closest to me that don’t want to listen to what I have to say. It’s possible that I am not “that person” – the person to lead them to an encounter with Christ, for him. However, I know that Jesus has called me to be “that person” for someone. I pray to the Holy Spirit daily for the grace to step up when that someone comes along.
By your supporting my ministry, you are not only sending hundreds of missionaries onto campuses around the country, you are also answering the prayers of people just like you and me who are praying that our loved ones are reached by the person that they will listen to. You and I are an “answer to prayer”.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
