The Lord has blessed me with a heart that loves sports and competition, so something I love to do is take students to play basketball, volleyball, spikeball, golf, etc. It is a great and relatable way to get outside and spend time with others. Additionally, I meet with students for discipleship, a time where I help them walk in their journey as a christian man learning to lead others. Outside of discipleship, our team has a structured prayer and work schedule in the mornings, leaving the afternoons open for me to spend time with students, lead bible studies, or take care of other responsibilities. I am excited to be back in Cajun Country and look forward to meeting new students in my third year with Focus.
My wife, Tori, and I were married on May 28, 2022 after meeting during our junior year of college over three years ago. We dated for a year and a half, most of which was long distance, and then were engaged last year while we were both in Knoxville. I was serving as a missionary and she was in nursing school. Tori is working at Our Lady of Lourdes Heart Hospital in Lafayette, LA in the cardiac ICU. We have settled down in New Iberia and are so excited to start our married life together. She loves God more than anything and pushes me to be the man God is calling me to be.
I began taking responsibility for my faith when I was about halfway through college. Before that it was something I primarily did because it was how I was raised but lacked a personal drive to grow closer to God and live a virtuous life. Today, I know that God created me so that I could experience his eternal love, and prayer is the key to growing closer to Him. As I grew in my faith, I wanted to share it with others. This led me to eventually apply to FOCUS. This was tough to do as someone who majored in Mechanical Engineering and spent the previous four years expecting to graduate and use my degree right away. Now as a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead all students to Christ. The college campus is a place where the Catholic faith is not very popular. Students are faced with many temptations everyday; I want to do my part in this battle for eternity.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you, and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.
