We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
I will be serving as a first-year missionary at Middle Tennessee State University! MTSU is a medium sized school with almost 20,000 enrolled students. It is located just outside of Nashville and has a large commuter population. I am very excited to meet the students and get to know about campus life there.
It is hard to say exactly when in college I first met the FOCUS missionaries at UofL, but I always remember the female missionaries having a deep impact on me. I knew that in some way I wanted to live my life like them. My sophomore year I had a deep encounter with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and I knew I wanted to get more involved them. I got confirmed that Easter and since then I have always wanted to live out mission in some way. This past year as I was figuring out what I wanted to do after college I knew I couldn’t rule out FOCUS as an option. Now that I know I will be a missionary next year I am exciting to meet women in the same way that I was met in college and help them to more deeply know Him.
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
