God has called me to be on mission with college students at Brown University, in Providence, RI. It’s been an incredible gift to serve there since the fall of 2022.

I work with students from a range of backgrounds and interests, with a special focus on graduate students and varsity athletes. My team and I also work with students from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), who share a Catholic center with Brown.

I am blessed to have grown up in a Catholic family where faith was always important. And starting in middle school, I had great role models in youth ministry that helped me build up a relationship with God.

When I got to UVA and encountered FOCUS, my faith took a new turn: towards mission. Leading a Bible study and mentoring younger students helped me discover a love of outreach, making new friends, and learning to be vulnerable with my peers. FOCUS missionaries showed me how Catholic community flourishes best when we pray together and participate in the Sacraments together, but also share life together– whether it be through grabbing meals, playing pickup sports, or going on a roadtrip adventure.

As a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead all students to Christ. In His ministry on earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet us on our level. Taking on our humanity, He spent most of His time investing deeply in a few. I look to Jesus own example to find the best method of reaching the world, starting with the students at Brown.

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who are journeying with me as I serve on campus.
