We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hello, my name is Serena! Please keep reading to learn more about my mission and story.
The Lord has called me to serve as a missionary at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville!
I was blessed to be raised in a Catholic family that taught me about a personal relationship with the Lord and formed my faith well. From a young age, I desired to be a missionary, but I didn’t know what that looked like. When I heard the words from Mark’s gospel “Go forth into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to all creation”, I was terrified.
During college, my faith deepened and I learned that being a leader in the faith is much more than speaking to a large crowd. It starts with leading by example, growing in friendships with the people I encounter, and then sharing the truth of the gospel.
I was incredibly convicted by this idea, and have been running with it the rest of my time in college. As I reached a turning point in my junior year, I realized I had an opportunity to pursue this mission intentionally after college by serving as a FOCUS missionary, and I said yes to the call!
The Lord has invited me to participate in His call to make disciples of all nations. The nature of this mission means that I rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners so that I can devote my time and attention to students in a radical way. If you are interested in going on mission with me through your support, please let me know the best way I can reach you and I will schedule a time to meet! You can reach me at [email protected]. It would be an honor to have you join me on this mission.
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
