Session 7 Overview: Ending with Jesus
In this final session, our journey ends by exploring the promises and prophesies fulfilled by Jesus. From Adam, Noah, and Abraham to Moses, David, and Solomon, we’ve traced God’s growing covenant plan. This finally culminates in Jesus Christ, the Messiah.
We’ll explore how Jesus mirrored Old Testament figures and events, proving that the Bible is more than ancient text. It is a dynamic story pointing directly to Jesus and His mission to establish His Universal Church.
As this series ends, we see covenants fulfilled in the New Testament, testament the timeless relevance of God’s words.
Let’s discover together how every story, prophecy, and law in the Bible connects to give us a richer, deeper understanding of our faith.
What Will You Learn In This Bible Study?
Key Highlights from the Discussion:
- The role of Jesus as the fulfillment of the scriptures: Connecting the life and mission of Jesus Christ as the fulfillment of the biblical narrative, bringing together Old Testament covenants and prophecies.
- The new covenant: The concept of the new covenant, prophesied in Jeremiah 31:31, promises a transformative relationship with God, where laws are written on people’s hearts rather than on stone.
- Jesus as the New Adam: Insights the symbolism of Jesus as the New Adam, who, unlike the first Adam, succeeds in his test of faithfulness in the Garden of Gethsemane, thus reversing the curse of sin and death.
- The Church as the Kingdom of God: Understand the establishment of the Church as the new “Kingdom of God,” echoing the Kingdom of David, and tasked with continuing the mission of Christ on Earth.
- Practical applications for today’s Christians: How ongoing engagement with scripture and active participation in the Church and community can help you live out the covenantal promises in your daily lives.
