We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hello! My husband, Claudio, and I are excited you found us! My name is Abigail and I am in my fourth year as a campus missionary. Claudio and I are in our first year as parish missionaries at St. John Neumann in Austin, Texas! We have been serving at the University of Pennsylvania, but we felt moved to head out to Texas where Claudio is originally from. It is sad to be leaving, but we are excited to be working with families and parishioners of many ages to continue sharing The Gospel and help The Lord form disciples. Please keep us, and our baby we are expecting in December, in your prayers.
I began my time at college with a desire to be amongst the Catholic community. Being born and raised Catholic was a great blessing throughout my life. The Lord stayed by my side even in the darkest times when I questioned why He allowed great suffering to occur in my life at a young age. As I wrestled with Jesus, He placed people in my life who accepted me in my brokenness. They were a great light in my life, and my heart began to soften and open back up. My first few weeks at my undergrad, Towson University, Jesus placed missionaries in my path and I saw this light within them. I began great amounts of time with them and learned how they modeled the way of the Christian life. I joined them in daily mass and adoration. That time of devotion, Jesus transformed me and flooded my heart with His love. All I did was make time for Him; He took care of the rest. Now as a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead others to Christ. Saying yes to Jesus and making Him the center of my life changed everything, and I want nothing more than to introduce others to the life-changing message of the Gospel. In His ministry on earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet us on our level, taking on our humanity, and spent most of His time investing deeply in a few. I look to Jesus’ own example to find the best way of reaching the world, through deeply investing in a few and teaching them to do the same, and so forth. It is a great adventure being Christs full time missionary, and I hope you will chose to take part in the journey He has prepared for you and for me.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me in Christs mission, you can click on the button below to set up financial support. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.
In Him,
Abigail Hewgley
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
