We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
For my first year with FOCUS, God has called me to serve college students at Auburn University in Alabama. War Eagle! I look forward to meeting and sharing life with campus very soon. Like my FOCUS missionaries did for me at Tulane University, I am so excited to share the Joy and Truth of the Gospel with students and cultivate rich, intentional friendships.
My first week as a freshman, I was sitting after Mass at a porch party that Tulane Catholic was throwing for new students. Coming from Arizona, I did not know anybody, but one girl–a girl I assumed to be another new student–took the entire event to sit with me and get to know me. Little did I know, she was a FOCUS missionary!
I remember the recurring thought that came to me while getting to know Meagan: there is no way I had the guts to do something like that. After one semester, I was a Chemistry double major, set on going to medical school as soon as possible. God works in hilarious ways!
During my time at Tulane, I got to know a group of women and led a Bible study for them every week with a home-cooked dinner under the guidance of Meagan and her team. Serving these girls and facilitating encounters with Christ and His Church gave me tremendous life, and I loved watching them grow in faith and friendship. One girl even decided after attending a FOCUS conference that she wanted to join the Church. Noticing how much I rejoiced at this news and how much I delighted in accompanying these women in their faith journeys, I realized my desire to be a missionary for Christ.
Deciding to be a missionary, given my career path, was a difficult decision, one which daunted me. However, in the end, I realized that serving God in this way is such a beautiful opportunity–not only to share the Gospel with students I encounter on campus, but also to invest in my future patients and learn to be a virtuous, attentive, and life-giving individual.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
