Hello! My name’s Julia! I’m a FOCUS missionary!

Where I serve

I’m currently serving my third year at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Sic ’em bears!

My Story

As a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead all students to a relationship with Christ. My life has been transformed by Jesus and I want nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel. In His ministry on earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet us on our level, taking on our humanity, and spent most of His time investing deeply in a few. I look to Jesus own example to find the best method of reaching the world. I’ve been constantly amazed by the different souls I’ve encountered on campus.

When I began college at UNT, I didn’t realize the truth and beauty of the Catholic faith. Making it to Sunday Mass seemed to be the only thing required of me, but even then I did my fair share of church shopping. Eventually, I found myself attending a weekly Bible Study. It became clear through studying scripture and learning more about Catholic tradition that Catholicism held a depth not contained by other denominations; a genuine path to encounter our Lord.

Inspired by this, I did everything in my power to learn more about the faith, which led me to becoming more involved with the FOCUS missionaries at UNT. From there, things shifted from merely knowing my faith to living it. They showed me what it meant to live a life of prayer, virtue, and relationship with Jesus.

Now, six years later, I enter into my third year of mission at Baylor University. It is such a blessing to be working with the students as they come to know and love the Catholic faith. The Lord continues to do fantastic things in their lives and mine.

“And what you heard from me through many witnesses entrust to faithful people who will have the ability to teach others as well.” -2 Timothy 2:2
