We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
I have come to set the earth on fire, and how I wish it were already blazing!”
-Luke 12:49
After serving in Michigan for the past two years, God has called me to continue working with college students. This year I will be serving at the University of Denver (DU) in Denver, CO. DU is located just south of Denver’s city-center and just east of the Rocky Mountains. With the city and nature so close together, I am excited to for the opportunities this will afford for outreach to the students. I look forward to inviting students to hockey games, hiking, and finding new restaurants to eat at.
Coming to college, I knew that I wanted to continue going to Mass on Sunday, but I was not prepared for the adventure that God had in store for me. I joined a Bible Study and for the first time the Gospel in its fullness was shared with me: I have been made for relationship with God, but I have rebelled against Him and His Goodness. Because of this there is an infinite chasm between myself and God but in His kindness, God sent his only Son to reconcile myself and the whole world to him. He does not just want us to be made new in heaven though, no, he has sent his Spirit and given us the Church that we might live in relationship with Him right now and He works to recreate me daily. However, this recreation is not forced it requires a response from me. Hearing this, my response to God’s goodness had to be yes.
Since then, through the help of community and those more experienced in the spiritual life, I have strove to give more of myself to God. This has led me to living a life that I could never had imagined for myself. One full of twists and turns, ups and downs, but full of joy and growing trust in God. Amazingly, I get to share this same Gospel with students everyday in my work as a missionary.
This mission is impossible without the spiritual and financial support of people like you. As Paul went out to the Gentiles he relied on the support of communities and individual patrons so that he could be totally free to share the saving message of Jesus Christ and invest deeply in those God placed before him.
I turn to you in this same spirit, would you be a Philippian to me? Would you join me in this mission and in a very real way be present at the University of Denver with me?
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
