The Formation Team

I (Ross) am working with the Formation Team after serving 6 years on the college campus. On our team, we help serve the needs of the apostolate by designing and implementing programs and materials that address the formative needs of our missionaries and students. We are concerned with the entirety of the human person, encompassing the human, spiritual, intellectual, and apostolic aspects of living the Christian life. We hope that by forming not only the minds of our missionaries and students, but also their desires and hearts, we might bring about a holistic transformation on our campuses, parishes, country, and the whole world!

(Ross) During my time as a student at the University of Minnesota Duluth, I had an opportunity to make a lot more of my own decisions. Given the ability to get involved with campus ministry right as I entered school, I’ve experienced how growing my faith during college has given me more joy and happiness than I could have imagined. Being involved in ministry, I was able to be mentored by missionaries who really showed me the love of Christ by loving me for who I was as a son of God rather than the sum of my accomplishments and failures. This granted me newfound hope, encouragement, and confidence that ultimately comes from having a relationship with God. Inspired by the wonderful people who gave their lives to full-time college ministry, I also felt the call to teach others about God’s love as I had been taught. It gives me so much peace and strength to know the Lord is working through me as I’ve stepped into this work of sharing the life-giving message of the Gospel with students who are desperately in need of purpose and love.

When we answered the call to join FOCUS, we made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. We’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with us as we serve on campus.
