“The Master has need of it” -Luke 19:31
The Lord has need of me, now more than ever.
As I prepared to go to college everyone told me, “college is the time where you find out who you are”. What I realized going into college was that I didn’t know who I was, and as a freshman I was desperately searching. I looked in the women’s soccer club, and in my engineering classes, I looked in the parties, and in the guys I would meet. But as Providence would have it, I met someone who introduced me to my Catholic faith. It was like Aladdin holding out his hand to invite Jasmine onto the magic carpet, “I can show you the world”. As I dived into my faith the ensuing years in college, I discovered a pivotal truth that would rock my world. I was Created for something good, in complete and total relationship with the Lord. Our first parents, Adam and Eve, lived in total harmony with God and I’m invited into this too, my heart aches for it. In the beauty of mundane life, I ache for Beauty that doesn’t end. But what the hell happened? Cause life isn’t all sunshine and roses. I’ve been captured by the enemy. My life drug through the mud as he takes his hold on the world. Where is the hope? The hope is in Christ that “while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (romans 5:8). We have been radically rescued in the most powerful way possible. Christ didn’t just come to live a good life, but to draw us into complete communion with Him. “as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.” (Isaiah 62:5) Radically, loving, unceasingly. He pursues me. And He’s pursing you. And He has invited me to respond by sharing this good news with college students at UNK. They need to know this message as desperately as I did my freshman year.
I’m created good and for relationship, I’ve been captured by the devil, but praise God He has rescued me, so that I can respond as a missionary.
How will you answer the call with me?
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19) We are all called to bring the Christ to everyone. Spreading far and wide. Souls are being fought after and won on college campuses. And I need your help. I’ve been called to literally be God’s hands and feet, walking directly with students every day to bring them the Gospel. By partnering with me on mission, you get to be the heart of mission pumping blood to fuel my efforts. Your spiritual and financial support are what allow me to do what God has called me into.
Are you ready to join the fight?
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
