We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“…do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.” -Isaiah 41:10
I am a first year missionary at Stephen F. Austin State University! I am also currently a student at SFA, while serving as a missionary, and plan to graduate August 2024! These are my lovely teammates! (Me, Kevin, Alli, Darlene, Andy)
I grew up with the Catholic faith being a part of my life and my upbringing knowing of Jesus’ presence in my life, but never fully understood why that was. In my first year of in college, I struggled with my value as a person. I depended on others to make me happy and fulfilled to have a sense of identity, but it led me to an unhealthy way of living. It wasn’t until my brother encouraged me to go to “The Father’s House” retreat that I got to know The Father in an intimate way and how He calls me to return to Him and know the love He has for me. On this retreat, I met the Focus Missionaries and a group of men that showed me first hand what true virtuous friendship looked like. I saw a light within them that made me realize that it was their relationship with The Lord that was so attractive to me and I wanted that. Soon after the retreat, I transferred to Stephen F. Austin State University and got involved at the Catholic campus ministry. The people I met made on the retreat, the FOCUS missionaries, and the community at St. Mary’s pursued me in friendship and welcomed me into the many opportunities to grow in my relationship with God. My first semester was the stepping stone into continued growth in relationship with Christ, and the flame only grew greater my second semester through the amazing opportunities my missionaries invited me into such as SEEK conference, Mission Trips, and Summer Projects. The Lord blessed me with many graces that school year through all of the life-changing experiences, the missionaries walking with me in my spiritual growth, and the virtuous friendship I have made here. I desire to give back what has been given to me by being a witness of the love Christ has for His beloved sons and daughters by sharing my witness of the transformation in my life so that they may experience authentic friendship, a desire to grow in divine intimacy with Christ, and a zeal to share their stories of transformation with others.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please reach out to me through phone (936)-238-8875 or email [email protected]. I would love to share this mission with you!

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
