FOCUS Lentsanity App Has New “Meat Police” Videos, Illustrated Guides, a MEGA Giveaway and Confession Week Features
DENVER, Colo., February 5, 2016 — FOCUS, the Fellowship of Catholic University Students, is adding several new features to its Lentsanity app this Lenten season. The app features illustrated guides, daily Mass readings and reflective articles for Lent. The app-exclusive Meat Police Early Warning System sends reminders to abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday and Fridays during Lent. More than 32,000 people have downloaded the Lentsanity app since it launched for the 2014 Lenten season.
FOCUS is working with Life Teen and the Augustine Institute to put on the MEGA Giveaway contest, starting February 5, which will award 20 winners with Catholic Prize Packs, including the following: copies of A Year of Mercy with Pope Francis, FOCUS’ new “Origins” album, Ascend Mass Companion from Life Teen, “All For One” Pro Life Resource from Life Teen and a one-month subscription to FORMED.org. The contest ends February 12 at 11:59 p.m. There are ten ways to enter, two of which can be done every day by returning to the contest page.
For 2016, Lentsanity will also feature updated Fast Food Fish Sandwich ratings and the debut of two new “Meat Police” videos. “Meat Police” features popular detectives Angus and Asada, who take Lent to the streets and make sure people stay away from meat on Fridays. The latest video will premiere during the second week of Lent. Catch up on Season One now at focus.org/lentsanity.
The Lentsanity app will share nine illustrated guides to the faith — including three brand new guides:
· 10 Types of Ashes You Might Get on Ash Wednesday
· Illustrated Guide to Lenten Fasting and Abstinence
· Illustrated Guide to Lectio Divina
· Illustrated Guide to Solemnities, Feasts and Memorials

The Confession Week features will start February 21 with a #ConfessionConfession mini campaign to inspire people to share their experiences with the sacrament. It will include a contest for creating and sharing #ConfessionConfession videos. In addition to the new Illustrated Guide to Confession, the app and website will include a Confession FAQ and Examination of Conscience megapost with links to different types of examinations.
