Hi friends! My name’s Abby, and I’m a fourth-year FOCUS missionary.

Where I serve

I am beyond excited to announce that I will be serving as the Team Director at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana for my fourth year on mission with FOCUS! My team and I are all beyond ready to begin running to Christ with the students there together. You’ll typically find me hanging out at a local coffee shop, picnicking lakeside, cheering on my athletes at their games, or riding my bike around town.

My Story

The desire for missionary life with FOCUS definitely began after attending my first ever SEEK conference during my freshman year of college. At the time, I had just met our newest incoming missionary named Rose, who very intentionally pursued my heart in genuine, authentic friendship. After placing my identity in various things of the world like relationships, perfectionism, mental illness, and success, Rose helped me discover my one true and only identity: a beloved daughter of the Good Father. She walked me through developing a prayer life, sacramental life, and an understanding of the truths of the Catholic faith. Her gentleness and willingness to share her life with me were everything that I’d ever needed from a friend before.

Through her friendship, I encountered Jesus for the first time. I then surrendered my life to the Lord and His will for my life, and for the last three years, I have been convicted of sharing the friendship of Christ with other women. And now, more so than ever before, I am confident in the truth of Jesus and how much He desires a life of fulfillment and abundance for each of us.

Your Impact

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. In making this decision, I believe wholeheartedly in spending as much time as possible investing in students through full-time mission.
