We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hello! My name is Abbie and I am a FOCUS missionary!

For ‘everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ But how can they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone to preach? And how can people preach unless they are sent?
Romans 10:13-15
After serving as a student missionary at the George Washington (GW) University, I served for one semester at the University of Delaware and for one year at the Boston Area Campuses. I currently serve as the Tam Director at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA! It is a gift to be able to lead my team on mission to reach souls for Christ. Check out my team below! From left to right: me, Morgan, Matthew, and Corinne.
How is a life with God different than a life without Him? Jesus told us. He came so that [we] might have life and have it more abundantly. Coming to college, my faith was at a crossroads. I desperately needed other Catholics my age to guide me, or my faith would have died out. At the George Washington University, God placed five FOCUS missionaries that He knew would change the course of my life forever. Since embarking on this journey to develop an intimate relationship with Jesus, my life has truly been abundant, and I could not imagine it any other way.
I am blessed to have served as a December graduate student missionary at my own undergraduate school, George Washington University. Walking side by side with my peers in discipleship, Bible studies, and fellowship has shown me that there is no limit to the power of the Holy Spirit. My decision to say ‘Yes’ to becoming a missionary has not only transformed the hearts of many around me, it has transformed my very own heart to see and love with the eyes and hands of Christ. Mission is a beautiful, life-giving calling and I am so thankful to have received the grace to answer the call.
Every person desires relationship with Christ and it is so evident that every college student longs to be filled by something more. College is a critical time for young men and women to choose what matters most to them. Most importantly, they are given the chance to choose their faith for themselves. Some are presented the Catholic faith for the first time. College students are the future missionaries. They are the ones who are going to be leading the nations and raising the next generations. It is at this point in life where God has called me as His daughter, and it is at that point where I wish to help other college students discover that same calling. When I felt a calling to serve on mission, there was no question that FOCUS was the right one because there is no other mission quite like it.
Will you join me in this mission to help the next generation discover their identity in Christ? As a mission partner, you have the God-given opportunity to allow me to be the face of Jesus for the young men and women who are looking for something more. Your support will help me be right on campus with students, spreading the good news and opening hearts to the love of Christ. It would be an honor to partner with you in this mission to bring abundant life to lost souls and walk with them towards eternity with Jesus. We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
