We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
I am starting my FOCUS missionary journey at Georgia Southern University! I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to serve the students at GSU.
I was born and raised in Saratoga Springs, NY. I made the wise decision to attend Clemson University for my undergraduate studies, and I graduated this May with a degree in Packaging Science.
Though I was not raised Catholic, I felt a deep longing for the faith during my sophomore year of college. I had the opportunity to deepen my understanding of Catholicism during a co-op at Milwaukee Tool in the spring semester of my junior year. There, I formed friendships with others who showed me the truth and love behind the Catholic faith. After leaving Milwaukee, I realized that Jesus had begun to change my entire outlook on life, a transformation that continued even after leaving my friends and support network there.
Returning to Clemson for my senior year, I found more friendship and support in regard to the faith. During my first week back, I was introduced to the FOCUS missionaries, and my growth in the faith took off. With the support of family and friends, I entered the Catholic Church this past Easter. I would not be the person I am today, or striving to become the person I hope to be, without FOCUS.
Feeling a deep calling to give back to other students what had been given to me at Clemson, I followed that calling to where I am today.
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
