We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“As each has received a gift, employ it for one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”
1 Peter 4:10
Hi! I’m Andy and I am a FOCUS missionary.
Through prayer and the will of God, I have been sent to do mission at West Point, the United States Military Academy! I have the honor of spreading the Gospel with soldiers that are willing to protect our country.
I studied Public and Professional Writing at the University of Pittsburgh while also preparing to start my law school journey. After falling from my faith in the beginning of my college career, the Catholic Newman Club at the Pittsburgh Oratory showed me a living example of what it meant to be a Catholic. I became a member in 2021 and the club provided me with fellowship and helped me to heal from my interior wounds so that I could truly see that I was a brother in Christ. I became involved with service projects, mass, holy hour, and other programs that Newman provided to help educate me in my faith.
After taking my LSATs, I was ready to apply to law school in the fall of 2022. I still felt as if my life wasn’t fulfilled even though I was about to take the next steps in my legal career and I was getting closer to my faith. It wasn’t until I went to a FOCUS recruitment event where a missionary said during his talk that “if you have even the smallest desire to learn more about FOCUS, you should at least apply.” I felt a small sensation in my heart that was dragging me towards FOCUS, so I applied to both FOCUS and law schools. After being interviewed by FOCUS staff, I felt that God was calling me to become a missionary. The need for Christ was so apparent not only in my campus, but campuses across America as they are affected by culture of isolation and vice. When it was time to choose which path to take, I decided to put my law school career on hold so that I could surrender fully to God’s will.
I am excited to serve with my team as we walk with the cadets at West Point. Through spreading the Word of God and discipleship, it is my hope for cadets to become soldiers for Christ.
Answering the call to mission requires me to rely on the prayers and finances of mission partners so that I can spread the Gospel on campus. I would like to invite you to join me on my mission so that your contribution can be used to make disciples in Christ. If you are interested in taking part in spreading the Good News to West Point, let me know how I can reach out to you. I can then schedule an appointment and I’d be more than happy to tell you more about this mission. Thank you and God Bless!

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
