Hello! My name is Anna and I will be serving as a FOCUS missionary at Troy University in Alabama. Go Trojans!

I was in the middle of student teaching during my senior year of college when I noticed an unsettled feeling in my heart. I was able to teach my students math and English, but that didn’t help their bitter attitudes that stemmed from wounds of not being loved. They would act out in class, but the most I could do was try to be compassionate. I knew that what they really needed was Christ. He could show them that they are loved and that they don’t need to prove their worth. Most importantly, He could heal their hearts.

This desire to help my students souls and lead them to peace, love, and true joy in Christ caused me to discern being a missionary after graduation instead of going into teaching. I saw the stunning way God worked through the missionaries at my alma mater, the University of Kentucky, in order to bring me and my friends into a relationship with Christ. In the last month of college, the Lord granted a miracle and gave me a job with FOCUS even though all of their interviews had already been conducted for the year.

Through FOCUS, Christ transformed my life into one that is abundant and fulfilling, and I desire to do the same for others. As a missionary at Troy, I hope to lead the young adults to a deeper relationship with Christ and to an understanding of His love for them. Alongside my team, I aim to help the students of Troy build virtuous friendships and a community that will accompany them towards eternal life.

As a missionary, I have chosen to partner with donors to fund my mission. Each mission partner provides me and my team with the means necessary to carry out evangelization on Troy’s campus. They ensure that no boundaries are between the students and their encounter with Christ by allowing us to pay for food, events, and other formative experiences for our students. While I offer my time to the students, my mission partners offer the material needs. I am so greatly appreciative of every person who is a part of my mission support team, both monetarily and through prayers!
