We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Welcome to the Sloan Family FOCUS page!
Thank you for taking the time to visit.
We serve as missionaries in the Digital Outreach program of FOCUS. This department (also called “Digital Campus”) provides evangelization, support, training, and formation for students at various schools who have not yet had the opportunity to have a FOCUS team present on their campus. Over 300 students across the country (and even abroad) have reached out to the digital team this year. These students desire to share their faith with friends and family, but are looking for the support and tools to be equipped to do so. For them, this new “digital frontier” is an exciting opportunity to share the truth and beauty of the Gospel in ways never imagined before.
This year Anthony is serving the student populations at two campuses: the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), and The University of West Georgia (UWG). This will be his third year serving at UAH and his first year at UWG. Please pray for our outreach on both campuses!
God’s loving care for all people in Christ must be expressed in the digital world not simply as an artifact of the past or a learned theory, but as something concrete, present, and engaging.
-Pope Benedict XVI
As missionaries, our greatest desire is to lead all people to know and love Christ in an intimate and authentic way. Our lives have been transformed by Jesus and together we want nothing more than to bring that joy to others and to introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel.
In His ministry on Earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet each of us on our level, taking on our humanity in the greatest of humility. He spent most of his time investing deeply in a few individuals whom he befriended (Jn. 15:15) and opened up every area of his life to; eventually laying down everything he had for them as an example of the greatest of all loves. “No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (Jn. 15:13) In doing this, Christ revealed to his friends the ultimate example of how he was inviting them to change the world through love.
Amanda and I look to Jesus’ own example to find the best method of reaching today’s generation, and for that reason we are blessed to be working with an organization like FOCUS, that so closely unites itself with Christ’s Great Commission (MT 28:18-20)
For I am not ashamed of the gospel: it is the power of God for salvation to every one who believes
– Romans 1:16
We as missionaries serve both on and off campus by striving to seek out those who are spiritually hungry, dead, or longing for God. Our mission is to bring them to the Truth of the Gospel, to the person of Christ, that through coming to know Him they may also come to know the Father (Jn. 14:6) and in doing so, know their truest identity as sons or daughters of God.
We are constantly seeking to unite our mission to a solid foundation of men and women with a similar vision and passion for saving souls from the entrapment of worldly deceit. We live in a generation where Satan has labored to turn our minds and hearts away from God. In light of this, Amanda and I would be honored if you would join us in our mission to evangelize the hearts and souls of college students.
As parents ourselves, we know the desire to see our children grow into a deeper and more fruitful relationship with their heavenly Father. Your prayers and financial support help us to keep working in the vineyard of the Lord so that we may bring nourishment to those who are perishing of spiritual hunger – a hunger that only God can satisfy.
If you desire to partner with us in this great endeavor please consider donating to our cause through a tax deductible gift or a monthly tithe. You can do so via the link below or at the top of the page. Our family would be honored to share this mission with you. Thank you for your time and consideration, and may God bless you richly in your journey throughout this life and ever onward toward Heaven’s heights!

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
