We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
I am serving as a second-year missionary at the University of North Dakota this year! I primarily work with student-athletes on campus through a national collegiate outreach within FOCUS called Varsity Catholic! I am pumped to serve alongside my four other teammates on campus, encountering souls for Christ!
Growing up Catholic, I knew my faith was something important to me, but I didn’t know how to live it well or what it truly meant to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
I encountered the Lord in adoration in high school at NET Lifelines, but the many challenges and sufferings I endured at the end of high school led me to resort to worldly things and selfish choices. After high school, I attended the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire where I studied Communication Sciences and Disorders and was a student-athlete on the swim team. I continued to go to mass and attended a Bible study but slowly realized I was living two different lifestyles. The Lord put a desire in my heart to know Him and my faith better. He kept inviting me in small, and then very big ways to receive His grace through daily Mass, confession, and adoration. Through this began a process of healing in how I viewed the Father, His love for me that cannot be earned, and what I rooted my identity in, which formally had been in relationships and athletics.
The Lord also blessed me with beautiful friendships at my campus Newman Center. Not only did these friends support me in my faith journey but strived for holiness and sainthood with me. It was through these friendships and the FOCUS missionaries who came to my campus my senior year that the Lord blessed me with His call to go deeper. It was also during this time where I learned about every Christian disciple’s call to mission (Mt 28: 18-20)! I decided to take a big step to answer that call by becoming a FOCUS missionary. Through my story, I have come to know there is so much joy and freedom in living for Christ and I long to share this with others and to serve Jesus Christ and His church. I’m looking forward to meeting and sharing life with students, particularly student-athletes, at UND!
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the prayerful and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. We are all members of the body of Christ and each member participates or gives differently. Your support allows me to encounter and bring souls to Christ on campus! The Lord is going to bless so many lives through our giving, including our own! If you are interested in going on mission together, please let me know of the best way to reach you and we can set up a time to talk. I would love to pray for you and share this mission with you! Please never hesitate to reach out and contact me: [email protected]

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
