We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Following high school, I was blessed to attend Northern Illinois University to continue my education and basketball career. At the time, I understood that this would be a challenging shift for me, but I had no idea of the great blessings the Lord had in store for me at NIU.
As a student-athlete, I graduated with my bachelors in graphic design and a minor in marketing. Due to Covid, I had the opportunity to play a fifth year while pursuing a Masters in Business Administration, graduating in May of 2025.
My passions of studying design and advancing in my basketball career led me to experience the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. My sophomore year, I began to put higher expectations on myself to preform well on the court and earn playing time. I was striving for perfectionism in my sport in which I could not accomplish. With failure, I believed the lie that I was letting people down and I just wasn’t good enough. But it was also during this time that I began to lean on my faith more. I asked God the question, “Why am I here?” and “What am I doing?”. This encountering placed me on a journey to embracing the joys with failure as well as trusting God and the goodness he desires for me. My humility through sport stemmed into a curiosity of faith which ultimately led to a deeper love for Christ and His Church.
Because of this obstacle that I (and many athletes) face, I was able to see God work at the center of my sport and life. God also gave me the tremendous blessing of surrounding me with people that were also striving to live holy lives. As I look back, there is no doubt in my mind that I am only in the position I am in today because of Him continuously and carefully working in my life. Only with Him has my “yes” to mission been possible. And for that, I am forever grateful to do His work.
I have understood the impact my campus missionaries have had on me throughout my time as a college student. I am not only thankful for them but tremendously thankful for the those who have joined their mission so that they could reach me. By accepting the Lord’s invitation to serve as a FOCUS missionary, I have the privilege to do the same for the next student. Our mission to reach the world with the Gospel is far greater than me. For this reason, I have committed to trusting in the Lord and others to support me both spiritually and financially. If you are interested in partnering with me or hearing more about the mission, please reach out and I would absolutely love to share more! I would be honored to have you on my team!

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
