Jesus has called me the last two years to serve students at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga!! For my third year on mission, I will be serving at The University Of Southern Mississippi!! I am so thankful, blessed, and beyond excited to be out there!
God has continued to pursue me, even when I have tried to run away. I wasn’t raised Catholic, but my parents did an incredible job instilling a love for God in my heart. It wasn’t until I got to college at The University Of Oklahoma that my faith was really rattled. I could see none of His goodness anywhere, and blamed everything bad thing on God. I fell in that place for most of college, until I finally hit rock bottom around my junior year. I knew that something in my life needed to change and change soon.
After a lot of time, healing, and help from my parents and friends, I made the decision to be baptized! I was so excited, and happy to be trusting God again, but there was something missing in my church life. After a challenging day, my best friend invited me to St. Thomas More for adoration and immediately I could feel what I’d been missing. The True Presence of Jesus! After that day, I started asking to go to Adoration more, Daily Mass, Sunday Mass, and eventually went through RCIA! I was confirmed on June 6th, 2020 (Yeah! During the pandemic!)
I have been so thankful and blessed with how God has pursued me, and wanted to do whatever I could to continue to further the kingdom! One day, I decided to quit my two coffee shop jobs (That’s correct! TWO coffee shops!) and trusted God with where I should be. That is when FOCUS came into the picture for me! Not only was it fully trusting on where I should be placed, but it was also a beautiful way for me to give back to God! College was one of the hardest times in my life in so many ways, and I am absolutely blessed that I will be able to pour into students lives and lead them towards God using my own experiences. There is still so much of the story to share, and I would love to get to tell you more about it if you want!
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.
