We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“My soul magnifies the greatness of the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.”
-Luke 1:46-47
I am so excited to serve as a first year missionary at Indiana University! Go Hoosiers! I will be on a team with 6 other missionaries (Daniel, Lizz, Sophie, Cori, Will, and Austin).
Despite being born and raised Catholic, learning to translate John into Latin while being homeschooled, and going to Mass 5 days a week at my Catholic high school, my faith was nothing more than a box I checked off every Sunday and praying for roses from St. Therese. It wasn’t until later that I realized how much the Lord had been using my Catholic experiences in middle and high school to prepare me to live for Him in college and beyond. When I finally moved to East Lansing to study nursing at Michigan State University, I was desperately lonely and in search of something more. During my time at MSU, the Lord gently pursued me by putting incredible people in my life who invited me to encounter Him in life changing ways at my first Bible Study, weekend retreat, and even 6:30 am Mass. Coming to realize that the Lord did not just want an hour of my Sunday, but rather a real relationship pursuing me as His Beloved absolutely changed my life.
I could not get enough of sharing the reality of this love with other students at Michigan State through leading Bible studies, retreats, and discipleship. When I was introduced to FOCUS at the end of my junior year, I couldn’t say no to the opportunity to make mission my full time job.
As a FOCUS missionary, I will rely on the spiritual and financial support of my mission partners in order to be fully dedicated to mission. Without the generous support of others, I will not be able to reach the students on campus. Please contact me if you are interested in joining my support team or learning more about how you can join me on mission! You can reach me at [email protected] or (248) 212-7429. It would be an honor to have you join me on mission!
“Some give to the missions by going, others go to the missions by giving.”
-Pope St. John Paul II
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
