We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hey! My name’s Caryn.
I’m a FOCUS missionary at Bowling Green State University.
If you become who you are meant to be, you will set the world on fire.
St. Catherine of Siena
God has called me to serve college students at Bowling Green State University!
I grew up Catholic and developed a relationship with Jesus in 6th grade in Eucharistic Adoration. My heart was captivated by Jesus resting before me in the Monstrance. I started to understand how the apostles were fascinated by His presence and desired to be with Him daily. But as I began to grow in my relationship with Jesus the troubles of the world were starting to steal my heart. I became lost and was conforming to what the world wanted of me.
I entered college and was trying to find happiness in the activities I did and through relationships. I wasn’t bringing Jesus into everything and this left me feeling empty and restless. I was invited to attend the Encounter Conference during my sophomore year of college by a dear friend. It was at this conference that Jesus transformed my life and drew me closer to Him through Eucharistic Adoration. He was calling me to give my life to Him, to live for Him alone. It was a high call but one that changed my life. After this, Jesus started to bring many faithful people into my life who were practicing their faith and living the Christian life abundantly. I was poured into by several people who taught me how to go out and reach others!
As a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead all students to Jesus. I want nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel. In His ministry on earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet us on our level, taking on our humanity, and spent most of His time investing deeply in a few. I look to Jesus’ own example to find the best method of reaching the world.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you!
God Bless!
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
