The Lord has called me to serve at New Mexico State University – Go Aggies!

I was blessed to grow up in a wonderful, supportive, Catholic family and was the only girl of seven kids. Growing up in Lincoln, Nebraska, I had powerful examples in faith within my parents, extended family, friends, and surrounding community allowing me to understand the beauty of the Church of Christ.

Going into high school and college, I found myself leaning more into academic and extra-curricular excellence to find my worth and identity. By my sophomore year in college, I found myself confused, lonely, and lost. In the time at home during the pandemic, my family was asked to provide music for the virtual Masses. Within this space I was able to more intimately encounter Christ in the Eucharist and by the grace of God, I was able to reprioritize my life, placing our Lord at the center. I began attending a Bible study consistently for the first time in my life and made amazing friendships founded in faith.

Leading up to and following my graduation from Concordia University, Nebraska; I was fortunate enough to work as the Campus Ministry Intern at Pius X High School, a role that allowed me to attend SEEK23 with my students. It was there that I felt prompted to answer the call of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) specifically as a FOCUS missionary! It has been a whirlwind of an adventure so far and I am truly so grateful for the opportunity to accompany women on campus as they move forward in their own stories with Christ!

The hearts of college students around the nation and around the world are aching to know the person of Christ. The message of our Lord’s unconditional love and mercy needs to be shared with them! We are all called to be missionary disciples, but we each must “find our own Calcutta” as St. Mother Teresa reminds us – some give by going; others go by giving.
