Hello! We are the Cappello family. We serve as missionaries at the University of PennWest Edinboro. We got married on July 1st, 2023. We are excited to bring God’s love and joy to the college campus through being a witness in living out our vocation.

Where We serve

God has called us to serve students at the University of PennWest Edinboro in Edinboro, PA. Having served in the Midwest in previous years, we are excited to invest in our people back towards home. We hope to help students grow in their relationship with God at a pivotal time in their lives.

Our Story

Growing up, God had always been a part of my life, but he just seemed to be one of the many aspects of my busy life. I had volleyball, tennis, the musical, band, chorus, family, school, and then God. I found some time to pray and go to mass, but God had not penetrated every aspect of my life. When I went to college and got involved with FOCUS, that all changed. The FOCUS missionaries at my campus invited me into a Bible study and began to walk with me on my journey in life. At first it started out as awesome friendships with the missionaries, but this quickly led me to a deeper relationship with God Himself. As the missionaries began to invest in me and encourage me to draw closer to God’s love, my relationship with God began to go deeper. Seeing the way they lived, fully alive for Christ in everything they did, inspired me to live fully for Him. I began to prioritize my prayer life and call on God in everything. I began to live a life totally reliant on God’s grace and the sacraments. This has given me a deeper meaning in life and a drive to share with others what God has given me. Because of this, God has called me to become a FOCUS missionary and walk with other college students that may not have ever been shown how beautiful a relationship with God can really be. “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” God wants to do tremendous things in peoples’ lives and I hope to be a small piece of the puzzle helping people let God in. We can transform the world by loving each individual person we meet.

Your Impact

When Jesus called the 12 Apostles, he invested deeply in each and every one of them. He formed personal relationships with them and walked with them. As missionaries, we hope to model what Jesus did and walk with college students on campus. When we answered the call to join FOCUS, we made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help us on this mission. We have been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with us as we serve on campus as a family.
