Hi ! I’m excited to announce that I will be serving as a Catholic missionary for FOCUS at the University of Pittsburgh !

I was blessed to have known and loved Jesus from a young age. However, I didn’t place much importance in my faith until I entered public high school and noticed that it was under attack. This awoke in my heart a desire to rediscover my Catholic Faith and the Church’s teachings and why I believed in the love of the Father. I gave my faith a chance and noticed myself growing deeper in love with Christ as I became increasingly aware of His living presence in the Eucharist and in my life. As college came around, the Lord would come to reveal Himself to me in my joys and sufferings. He saw me when I fell, and rejoiced when I got back up. I encountered His loving gaze in my friendships, and came face to face with Him in the Sacraments and in the truth, goodness, and beauty that permeated my life. 

Witnessing the demoralizing reality of “the college experience” and the degrading lifestyle that it entailed, I became increasingly conscious of the urgency of the call to bring souls back to Christ. I watched my peers fall into depression, addiction, anxiety, and loneliness because they were placing their entire identity in things of the college culture that were not affirming of their worth nor life-giving. I saw that there was an emptiness in the hearts of young people as a result of the loss and rejection of the Christian identity. Only this would reveal to them their infinite worth in the eyes of the Father who loves His children unconditionally.

Mother Theresa once said, “Stay where you are. Find your Calcutta. You can find Calcutta all over the world, if you have eyes to see.” I saw the spiritual starvation present on my college campus and I felt called to stay here.

The Lord has prepared my heart well for this mission as I have watched Him work miracles in the hearts of so many people in my life. I cannot wait to join Him on His Great Commission for souls.
