God has called me from the great state of Mississippi to serve at Benedictine College in Atchison, KS. I’ll be serving as a Varsity Catholic missionary, which means I have the opportunity to walk with both students and student-athletes!

When I truly understood Jesus’ love, I just wanted to shout it out to the whole world—and now I’m here as a FOCUS missionary where I get to do just that! Growing up in South Mississippi I knew of God, but I just didn’t know Him and who He truly is. Yeah, you learn God loves you and all that jazz, but that really just stayed in my head, and I never truly experienced His love in my heart until Deacon Michael, my confirmation teacher, showed me what it looked like. He was absolutely on fire for God, and I had no idea what it was but I knew I wanted more. Slowly but surely, I started frequenting more of the sacraments and absolutely dove into everything Catholic. Once I learned that Jesus Christ is fully present body, blood, soul, and divinity in the Eucharist I was sold. Even so, I didn’t understand the character of Jesus and His love. It wasn’t until my freshmen year of community college that someone truly showed me the love of Jesus, and along the way, He gently helped me realize I had to give my imperfections to Him. Now that was something to wrestle with—I didn’t want anyone to see those parts of me that we all have. But Jesus Christ wanted to see that side of me, and I finally let Him and He didn’t turn His back on me. No, in fact, He entered into those parts of me and transformed them. Little freshman me was so blown away by that love that I committed my life to Him to know Him and serve Him and show others who He is through the love that He had shown me. I just didn’t know what that was going to look like quite yet.

After my sophomore year, I transferred to Mississippi State to finish up my undergrad degree. I met Madison at SEEK22 who invited me into bible study and just showed me by her example what it means to truly strive for sainthood, for heaven. She continued to reveal to me the person of Jesus Christ and how much He loves. She continued to show me that yes, the world offers us so much to fill ourselves with, but no one and nothing could fill our hearts like the love of Jesus Christ.

As a missionary with FOCUS, I have been gifted with the opportunity to walk with college women across the board and to truly help them to understand who Jesus truly is and how much He loves them—to see them come alive as they experience it again or even for the first time as I have!

When I gave Jesus my yes in joining FOCUS, I also said yes to relying on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me on this mission. It has been transforming to know how God will be working both on campus and from home and through my mission partners to spread the good news of His kingdom.
