We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God.” (Luke 8:1)
My first year as a missionary I will be serving at the University of Toledo in Ohio. Here is my team, Go Rockets!!
Although I was raised in and knew of the faith, I didn’t fully understand how to live it out in my life. I always thought that simply “doing” things for God—going to church, praying when I felt like it, and occasionally reading my Bible—was enough. However, things began to change when I met a FOCUS missionary during my later years at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. I sensed a higher calling and longed for an authentic connection through community and with Christ, but I didn’t know how to navigate that.
During my college career, I was heavily involved in student government while also serving in the Armed Forces. As President of the Student Body and a Sergeant in the Marine Corps Reserves, my life, and ultimately my faith, were tested in many ways. However, by surrounding myself with good people who encouraged me to challenge myself spiritually, I stayed on the path of righteousness and found my community. This ultimately led me to give back to those who showed me what it truly means to know, love, and serve God.
Through my connection with a FOCUS missionary, I rekindled my love for Christ and yearned to be in a deeper relationship with Him. My history of challenging myself in life decisions has shown me that college campuses need missionaries who desire to transform students’ lives for the better, just as mine was transformed.
Faith often takes a backseat during the early years of college. The newfound freedom, new community, and absence of parental control that come with becoming a freshman often lead to living for the weekend or chasing fleeting pleasures.
Through your partnership with me on mission your spiritual and financial contribution will help me go out and “make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19). To help share the gospel and invite others to grow in authentic friendship to truly transform the lives of students in college, for a lifetime out of college.

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
