We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hey! My name’s Ethan. I’m a FOCUS missionary.
“And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent” (John 17:3)
I’m very excited to be serving the incredible students of the University of Connecticut this year! It’s truly a privilege to have the opportunity and hope of sharing with these students the joy of a personal encounter with Jesus Christ. I have a pretty cool story about how Jesus has changed my life — I think you should hear it sometime! Shoot me a text or come find me on campus and I’d love to share it with you.
As a missionary, my desire is to walk with students and show them the infinite love that the Lord has for them as His beloved children. I was raised a cradle Catholic. I attended Catholic school and went to mass on most Sundays, but I never really took my faith seriously. I always saw it more than anything as just one obligation among many. When I was a college student, as unfortunately many do today, I fell away from the faith. I began seeking what I now know were false idols to fulfill my every desire. I rooted my identity in things like being a student, an athlete, or a musician, rather than in being a beloved son of God. I answered the call to become a FOCUS missionary to help show students that they were created for relationship with Jesus, just as a FOCUS missionary named Liam once did for me. This year on campus my hope is to witness and to share with the students the Father’s love for each one of us when he says “you are my beloved son, with whom I am well pleased” (Luke 3:22).
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
