Hello, my name is Francesca! I’m currently serving as a Varsity Catholic missionary at Winona State University in Minnesota, where I have the joy of doing mission alongside five fellow FOCUS missionaries.

It wasn’t until the end of college that I really began to desire a personal relationship with Jesus. For much of my time as a student-athlete, I found my identity wrapped up in swimming. At the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, I was so blessed to meet amazing missionaries and form authentic friendships that helped me see who I truly am in God’s eyes. Their witness inspired me to live with joy and freedom.

I’m grateful to my loving parents, who raised me in the Catholic faith. For a long time, I didn’t fully understand why I practiced my faith, and I rarely asked questions. When I got involved at the Oshkosh Catholic Newman Center, everything started to change. My Catholic faith was brought to life for the first time, filling me with curiosity, confidence, and a desire to grow closer to Christ.

The more I learned, the more my heart was drawn to Jesus Christ. This past year, I was able to walk alongside some of my teammates by leading team prayers and Bible study, and I saw how God was moving in my life as well as my teammates’ lives. By the end of college, my faith wasn’t something I just did, but it shaped everything I did. I’m so excited to continue journeying with student-athletes, encouraging them and reminding them of their true identity in Christ!

When I said yes to serving with FOCUS, I chose to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to make this mission possible.
