We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“Evangelization is the mission of the Church, not just of a few, but my, your, our mission.”
-Pope Francis
God has called me to serve college students at the University of Washington, Seattle! This is my second year on staff with FOCUS. In Washington I will be leading engaging bible study’s, hanging at the UW Catholic Newman Center, meeting students on campus, hiking with the guys, and so much more!
I have been blessed to be raised by amazing parents, mentors, and teachers who have passed the gift of the faith to me. Growing up I knew a lot about Jesus but I never had a personal relationship with Him…
Until in high school when my best friend Max offered me a simple yet powerful invite to go deeper in my faith. Since then I had a hunger to pursue God. As I went to college I was challenged in many ways; however, the Lord had a plan for me! I found myself at the local Newman center. There I met an incredible community and focus missionaries. In college, I rediscovered my faith and I encountered the Gospel! I learned how to have live in virtue, have a prayer life, and most importantly grow in personal relationship with Jesus.
…After graduation I worked for a year as a pediatric rehabilitation nurse. While working I discerned that God was calling me for campus mission! In short, Christ loves me and I love Him. There is an important need in college campuses that cry for His love and I am drawn to serve Him with Focus! Many college students miss out on having a personal relationship with Jesus and it is because no one has told them about Jesus and His love for them!
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. The mission: to know Christ Jesus and fulfill His great commission.
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
